Trilogy at The Polo Club brings together resort-style amenities, recreation and desert living within an expansive Indio community framed by mountain views.

Trilogy at The Polo Club occupies an interesting place in the Greater Palm Springs desert lifestyle. Located in Indio near the La Quinta border, the community combines newer desert homes, extensive recreation and a private club environment in a setting designed around social connection rather than golf.

That distinction matters. Despite the name, Trilogy at The Polo Club is not built around an on-site golf course. Its identity comes instead from The Polo Club itself — a substantial social, dining, fitness and recreation center that functions as the community’s gathering place.

A Resort Community with a Different Formula

Shea Homes introduced Trilogy at The Polo Club in 2014, bringing the company’s resort-community concept to this part of the Coachella Valley. City of Indio planning materials identify the development at approximately 1,070 residential units, giving it enough scale to support a broad range of homes and amenities while maintaining a clearly defined community identity.

Trilogy also differs from communities that fit neatly into a single age category. It includes both 55+ age-qualified neighborhoods and select all-ages neighborhoods. For buyers, that distinction is important because age qualifications should be verified for the specific property being considered rather than assumed from the Trilogy name alone.

At the center of the community is The Polo Club, a private club of more than 25,000 square feet. Its architecture and original design concept drew inspiration from Coachella Valley history, including the Southern Pacific Depot Station & Hotel and the region’s polo heritage. The result is a clubhouse that feels connected to its desert setting while supporting a distinctly contemporary lifestyle.

The Polo Club at the Center of Daily Life

The depth of the amenity program is one of Trilogy’s defining characteristics. Resort, lap and fitness pools create different environments for recreation and exercise, while tennis and pickleball courts, fitness facilities, game and card rooms, meeting spaces and community parks provide numerous ways to stay active or social.

That variety is significant because the lifestyle is not organized around one dominant activity. Residents can build their own version of life here — fitness in the morning, time at the pool, a game of pickleball, a club or class, or dinner with friends without leaving the community.

The club’s dining program adds another dimension. June Hill’s Table, open to members and the public, is named for Coachella Valley pioneer June Hill McCarroll and serves seasonal dishes made from scratch with an emphasis on fresh and local ingredients. It is also one of the Trilogy amenities I know from personal experience. My wife and I frequent June Hill’s Table because, quite simply, the food is excellent.

Additional culinary and gathering spaces, including McCarroll’s Kitchen, The Market Place and The Cuverie, reinforce the idea that food and social connection are part of the community’s everyday rhythm rather than occasional special events.

Homes Designed for Desert Living

Contemporary single-story homes at Trilogy at The Polo Club reflect the community’s emphasis on relaxed desert living, outdoor space and mountain surroundings.

The residential architecture at Trilogy reflects the way many buyers want to live in the desert today. Single-story designs, open great rooms, generous kitchens, covered patios and large expanses of glass create homes that feel relaxed and connected to outdoor spaces.

Open great rooms and broad expanses of glass found in many Trilogy residences create a natural connection between interior living spaces and the outdoors.

The relationship between interior and exterior living is especially important here. Multi-slide doors and broad openings found in many plans allow great rooms and patios to function almost as one continuous entertaining space during the desert’s best months. Private pools, landscaped yards and mountain views can extend that experience well beyond the walls of the home.

Having sold several homes in Trilogy at The Polo Club, I have seen how much the community’s appeal depends on the combination rather than any single feature. Buyers may initially respond to a particular floor plan, backyard or view, but the larger decision often includes the club, recreation, dining and social environment surrounding the home.

Location on the La Quinta Border

Trilogy’s position along Avenue 52 places it in Indio while keeping it closely connected to neighboring La Quinta and the broader eastern Coachella Valley. The Polo Club itself enjoys views toward the Santa Rosa Mountains to the southwest and the Chocolate Mountains to the north, giving the community a strong sense of desert geography.

The location also places residents near the area’s polo grounds, dining, shopping and seasonal events while allowing daily life inside Trilogy to remain centered on the community itself.

For buyers comparing desert communities, that balance can be meaningful. Some communities are defined primarily by golf. Others are smaller residential enclaves with limited shared amenities. Trilogy offers another model: a large gated community where recreation, wellness, dining and social life are intentionally brought together.

A Community Built Around How People Live

What distinguishes Trilogy at The Polo Club is not simply the length of its amenity list. It is the way those amenities are organized around everyday life.

The clubhouse is not a distant centerpiece used only for occasional events. Pools, fitness, sports, dining and gathering spaces give residents reasons to use it routinely. Homes emphasize comfortable single-level living and a connection to outdoor space. And the mixture of age-qualified and all-ages neighborhoods gives Trilogy a residential character that is somewhat different from a conventional active-adult community.

That combination has made Trilogy at The Polo Club one of Indio’s most recognizable resort-style residential communities.

The homes matter.

But here, so does everything waiting outside the front door.
